TAYLOR: 5:30 PM One Taylor Police Officer was on the scene of a suicide threat call in Taylor. Local EMS responded to the suicide threat.
The second Taylor Police Officer viewed a motorcycle failing to yield for the responding ambulance and went to stop the motorcycle.
The motorcycle driver was north bound on Highway 605 from Highway 52 towards Trawick Road. Taylor Police reported there were traveling at estimated speeds of 35 MPH. You could hear the Taylor Police Officer siren in the background. The driver was refusing to stop.
When the motorcycle driver reached the stop sign on Highway 605 and Trawick Road he reported to stop at the stop sign. But drive off.
The Taylor Police Officer continued behind the motorcycle with his lights and siren going. According to Taylor Police the speeds of about 35 MPH.
When the motorcycle stopped for the stop sign at Fortner Street and Highway 605 the Taylor Police Officer was able to rapidly exit his vehicle and take the motorcycle driver into custody.
Houston County Sheriff Deputies responded to assist Taylor. The second Taylor Police Officer responded when he cleared the suicide attempt call.
The primary Taylor Officer was able to take the motorcycle driver into custody. Reports he was intoxicated. His motorcycle is towed and the driver is on the way to the Houston County Jail.
