DOTHAN: Dothan Fire and Dothan Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Reeves Street. Reports are vehicle verse pole with power lines down. The driver did not appear to be injured. Power is out in the area.
The area where the crash occurred is closed until it can be cleaned up. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Dothan Police.
The driver of the vehicle was sitting at the traffic light at Highway 431 and Ross Clark Circle. Apparently the driver was asleep. A semi blew the horn and the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed south bound on Reeves Street.
According to a witness as the vehicle approached the Bic Road intersection the pickup truck veered to the left, clipped a telephone pole traveling through a fence striking several vehicles in the Ray Thompson Auto Service. Came to rest against a motor home.
One lane of traffic was blocked because of the downed power lines. Dothan Utilities was on the scene to repair the broken pole. It has caused a power outage.
Dothan Police investigated.
