Abbeville Police Make Drug Arrest

ABBEVILLE:    On October 20, 2018, at approximately 1430 hours, Abbeville Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 431. The traffic stop and subsequent search of the vehicle led to the seizures of approximately 1 pound of marijuana, 1 ounce of cocaine, 2 stolen handguns, 1 bottle of codeine syrup, 1 counterfeit $100.00 bill, and drug paraphernalia.  Joshua Smith, of Panama City, FL, was charged with drug trafficking, possession of marijuana 1st, forgery 1st, possession of controlled substance, receiving stolen property 3rd, possession of drug paraphernalia, and carrying a concealed handgun without a permit. Smith was placed in the Henry County Jail with bonds totaling $361,000.00.
