ADEM Meeting in Dothan Civic Center on Thursday evening
DOTHAN: 8:47 PM ADEM ( Alabama Department of Envoirnmental Management ) held a public question/answer session at the Dothan Civic Center from 6 Pm to 7 PM tonight.
At 7 PM residents and other citizens were allowed a public hearing. They were allowed to say what they wanted and present to the ADEM Panel any material they wanted to be considered on the new Dothan Landfill.
Dothan Commissioner David Crutchfield, Dothan Mayor Mark Saliba and some Dothan staff to include Dothan's Acting City Manager Mike West were on hand. Between the staff and citizens about 50 people were on hand for the Public Hearing.
The residents made accusations about the health hazards caused by the landfill and requested it be denied.
The board will leave the comment time open until March 4 ( I think ) which can be submitted to ADEM. To make sure check ADEM's web site.
