DOTHAN: On Saturday, June 23, Midland City Police requested mutual aid assistance from the Dothan Police Department, regarding a barricaded subject on Ward Street in Midland City, Alabama. At approximately 3:35 a.m., officers on scene requested emergency medical services to respond for a gunshot injury. A male subject was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries which were reportedly sustained by law enforcement gunfire.
As is standard procedure in most law enforcement involved, use of deadly force events, City of Dothan Police Chief Steven Parrish requested the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) conduct an independent investigation into the shooting. SBI Agents immediately responded to Midland City and are currently conducting an investigation. Once the investigation is completed, a copy will be turned over to the Dale County District Attorney. No additional information is available at this time.
