Coast and Cotton, a Dothan, Alabama-based gift towel manufacturer and distributor was recently featured in HGTV Magazine’s November, 2017 “Shop With The Stars” section. Jillian Harris, host of HGTV’s Love It Or List It, Too, chose Coast and Cotton’s Farm & Table Teacups design as one of her favorite kitchen towels. The magazine is the currently the 6th best-selling monthly magazine on newsstands with a 1.3 million circulation.
National attention is not new for the company, having been selected as one of Cooking Light Magazine’s 35 “Hottest Gifts of 2015” in their Christmas issue and featured on NBC’s The Today Show in their “Stuff We Love” Mothers Day 2016 gift segment.
Dothan, Alabama natives Sydney and Will Hewitt founded Coast and Cotton in 2014 and launched their first gift towel collection in 2015. After years of moving and traveling with the military, they saw a need for thoughtfully designed, functional products that reminded them of home. What started with a few locally-inspired gift towel designs has quickly grown to several thousand, hand-designed and drawn by Sydney, that represent places and pastimes from Maine to California and everywhere in between.
“Our designs represent the pride we have in the places that make us who we are, from where we were born and raised, to where we raise our kids, to where we escape from it all. Each design is thoughtfully developed and is intended to become a part of the story it represents.”
The 100% cotton flour sack material is processed in the US and designed and printed in the company’s own facilities using eco-friendly, water-based dyes that are heat-cured to ensure colorfastness. Coast and Cotton currently sells its towels through over 500 retailers throughout the United States including well-known retailers such as Nordstrom, L. L. Bean Home, and Ballard Designs. Locally, Coast and Cotton towels can be found at Naomi and Olive in Downtown Dothan.
