HOUSTON COUNTY: This evening at the 40th Annual Alabama Association of Volunteer Firefighters, Wicksburg Fire Chief Wanda Smith Andress was awarded the Sherry Garner Award for Female Volunteer Firefighter of the year for the State of Alabama. Sherry Garner was the first female fighter to die in the line of duty in Alabama. This is truly an honor to win the award for the entire state and Houston County.


Congratulations to Chief Wanda Andress. It was well deserved.
