DOTHAN - HOUSTON COUNTY:     We noticed over the weekend that Dothan Police made well over 100 arrests in four days.

Arrests for many drug charges, possession of firearms, Trafficking in drugs, synthetic marijuana, possession of cocaine, and other charges.

We noticed that Dothan Police Department had an unusually number of officers on the streets. A Sunday night shooting on Newberry Lane off East Newton Street - seconds the area was wrapped with Dothan Police Officers and not long there after the suspect was taken into custody.

We reached out to Dothan Police Chief Steve Parrish for a comment. So far he has declined.

But from what we know about Dothan Police Chief Steve Parrish - he has integrity, honesty, a great work ethic, and he will not tolerate crime getting out of control under his watch. So we do not know exactly what prompted the increased Police on the street.

But the citizens and guests of Dothan Alabama can rest assured of one thing - Your Police Chief, Steve Parrish, will (1) tell you the truth (2) make sure you are safe and secure (3) ABSOLUTELY MAKE SURE the officers under his command are professional, treat you with respect as you will allow, and make sure they follow policy and do their job.

But one more very important thing - If For One Moment You Think Steve Parrish Will Allow Crime in Dothan Alabama to get out of control - WRONG!  But he will do it legally, and impartially to race, color, creed or religion.

In 10 days the Houston County Jail has booked in over 220 persons. the Houston County Jail, under the command of Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza, has been extremely busy in booking these more than 220 persons.
