On January 10, 2018, patrol officers responded to Southeast Alabama Medical Center in reference to a gunshot victim who arrived by personal vehicle. The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries. It was determined the incident occurred in the 800 block of Pryor Street. Investigators responded to the scene and began an investigation.
James Mario Cherry IV, 24 years of age, has been identified as a suspect in the incident. Warrants have been obtained for Attempted Assault 1st and Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Vehicle. Cherry is considered armed and dangerous.
