DOTHAN: Today was the Mardi Gras Parade.
It started over on Park Avenue and made it’s way to Foster Street and through downtown Dothan.
People from all walks of life worked on floats and participated in the parade. About 30 entries in the parade.
Following the parade a event at THE PLANT on North Saint Andrews Street in downtown Dothan.
There was huge excitement and a lot of People.
Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza, a native of New Orleans Louisianna, was in the parade. Sheriff Valenza came to Dothan to play baseball at George Wallace Community College more than 40 years ago. He stayed, married a local lady, have a daughter and has worked for Houston County Sheriff Department for more than 40 years. And now he is THE SHERIFF.
The top Picture Sheriff Valenza is driving and Ray Arnold is co-pilot.
Many in the parade and a lot of fun.
