According to Chief Deputy David Anderson of the Covington County Sheriff’s Office, more than 800 marijuana plants have been seized by authorities over the past two days. Police estimate the value of plants seized at nearly $2 million.

The plants were spotted from the air by an Alabama Law Enforcement Agency helicopter off Highway 331 just north of Florala. Some of the plants, which the police are saying they have reached 14 ft. high.

The Police are still looking for more plants and believe there might be as many as 200 more.

In addition to the Covington County Sheriff’s Office, the Covington County Drug Taskforce, Florala Police, Opp Police and the Sheriff’s Posse are assisting in the effort.

The investigation continues and the arrests are still pending
