HEADLAND - HOUSTON - DALE COUNTY: A Headland Police Corporal clocked a motorcycle southbound on Highway 431 in excess of 100 miles per hour.
The person "under" the blue lights, the officer, requested the motorcycle driver to stop. The person in "front" of the blue lights, " the suspect ", made the decision not to stop.
The motorcycle rider continued south On Highway 431. At the time of the chase it was traffic violations. Headland Police Scott Langley called the chase off.
A Alabama State Trooper spotted the motorcycle on Westgate Parkway. Again the person "under" the blue lights requested the driver to stop but the person "in front of" the blue lights, the suspect, fled. The chase went on Westgate Parkway to Denton Road then north on Denton Road to Dale County Road 10. At Barrington Road the Trooper Sgt. Brian Simerly, lost sight.
In a combined effort with Alabama State Trooper Captain Tracy Nelson, Sgt. Brian Simerly, Trooper Norman, Dothan Police, Midland City Police and Napier Field Police the suspect was located on Hibiscus Circle. That street is the trailer park on Highway 231 across from Troy University.
The motorcycle, still hot, was found in a shed. The suspect was in a trailer next door.
The officers located and arrested the suspect. A female was arrested because she was attempting to cover up and hide the motorcycle.
The motorcycle rider had suspended driver license. He had outstanding felony arrest warrants in Houston County. And now has additional charges by the Headland Police Department and Alabama State Troopers.
His first "home away from home" will be the Dale County Jail. When that changes it will be the "Henry County Jail".
Sewage was being dumped under the trailer where the motorcycle was being hidden. Dothan - Houston County Emergency Management Director Chris Judah was notified. That information was passed to Dale County Emergency Management Director Kurt McDaniel. That address is in Dale County.
