November 1 Will Be Here Before You Know It

DOTHAN:     It will be November 1 before you know it. And that is the starting date for the National Peanut Festival.

Tonight was the kick off party where Board Chairman Jason Rudd and members of the National Peanut Festival Board of Directors came together to show the hundreds of volunteers their appreciation.

Appreciation for the hundreds of hours the men and women volunteer their services to make the National Peanut Festival a great success.

There is no way the National Peanut Festival could be successful if men, women and children did not volunteer their time and energies. From the Cub Mobile Derby, Miss National Peanut Festival, reciepe  contests,  entertainment. Some 17 divisions. 

And then those who donate their time working in the administrative offices.

The National Peanut Festival Chairman, Jason Rudd, is a volunteer position. You will find Jason doing everything. From presiding over a meeting to cutting grass. Not afraid to get his hands dirty or dress up and welcome guests and dignitaries. And all for free.

Jason Rudd hit the ground running. He has managed the National Peanut Festival through some turbulent times such as major rainfall the week of the fair. And the sudden death of the man that kept the grounds running.

A lot of thanks to Jason Rudd for his leadership and willingness to lead the National Peanut Festival.
