Officer involved shooting: Suspect shot after leading Prichard police on high-speed chase

Mobile County sheriff's office is investigating an officer-involved shooting after a man led a Prichard police officer on a chase into Mobile. 


According to MCSO, the Prichard officer attempted to pull over a silver mustang. When the car did not stop, a pursuit ensued. During the chase the suspect, identified as 40-year-old Cecil Frederick James, shot multiple times at the officer from his vehicle. The officer returned fire and shot James multiple times before the chase ended in a neighborhood at Wolf Ridge Road and Marchal Lane in Mobile.
