DOTHAN: On Tuesday I received a phone call from Marsha and she sounded very weak. Based on the conversation I called our son John Curtis to step out of the office and into the truck.
When we saw her immediately we said time to go to the doctor. Our hospital choice was clear and to FLOWERS HOSPITAL we went.
She has not been a diabetic. But her sugar was over 700. Her nurse was Steve Hartman. He has been with Flowers for 37 years. Steve worked at Flowers when they were downtown. He also worked for Joey Pilcher of Pilcher’s Ambulance some 37 years ago. Again, knew we were in excellent hands. A steady staff, a steady staff Who knew what they were doing.
She was admitted to CCU and placed in the hospital.
We were greeted in CCU with a great friend of ours and a great nurse, Hunter Curran. We knew she was in great hands. The next days David and Meghan, excellent.
On Thursday evening she was placed in a room. Several more tests and monitoring. New diets and ways of doing things in the future.
FIRST, PRAISE THE LORD HE kicked me in the seat of the pants to return her call. I had been in court when she had tried to call
me. The way my days go I don’t always call back. But I give all of the credit to GOD in kicking me to call her. And as weak as she sounded I knew something was wrong.
Then our stay at Flowers Hospital has been great. A super staff working to care for patients. Providing excellent, friendly care. A Chief Executive Officer who checks on his staff, knows them and checks on his patients.
THANK YOU TO FLOWERS HOSPITAL.
Please remember Marsha in the days ahead.
