Overturned Semi on Highway 10 just west of Alabama-Georgia line

HENRY COUNTY:  Clay County 911 and Abbeville-Henry County 911 received a call about 4:30 PM of an overturned semi. The accident location was just west of Alabama-Georgia line on Highway 10.

Clay County Georgia EMS and Ft. Gaines Police responded along with Abbeville Fire Rescue, Shorterville Fire, Henry County Sheriff Department and Alabama State Troopers.

A semi loaded with peanuts was east bound on Hwy. 10 anx ran off the north shoulder overturning in the ditch. The driver was out of the wreckage on arrival of emergency units.

Abbeville Fire Rescue thanks Clay County Georgia emergency units for crossing into Alabama. Abbeville Fire Rescue said it is all about saving lives.

On the scene for Abbeville Fire- Rescue was Justin Holmes and Dylan Jones.

The injuries were non life threatening.

The accident closed Highway 10 for a period of time while the wreckers cleaned up the wreckage.

Deputy Bennefield was on the scene for Henry County Sheriff and Trooper Suggs investigated the accident.
