Parrish, Triana chief only two finalists for Dothan top cop

According to WDHN: Two finalists were announced Monday for Dothan’s police chief’s opening. Department Major Steve Parrish and Triana, AL police Chief Michael H. Walker will be interviewed according to City Manager Mike West. The story was first reported by DothanEagle.com.
Parrish has worked for the Dothan Police Department about 31 years beginning as a jail officer and rising through the ranks. His experience includes work in the patrol division, criminal investigations, and command staff. Most recently, Parrish has been second in command and handles many of the day to day operations of the department.
Walker is police chief in Triana, a small town near Huntsville. He was among 24 applicants for the job---16 met minimum qualifications. It is widely believed that Parrish will be appointed to replace Chief Greg Benton when he retires May 1.
