Person Found Dead in Rivertown Community Identified

On 05/08/2016, Officers with the Marianna Police Department responded to Rivertown Community Church located at 4534 Lafayette Street in reference to a deceased person. Upon officers arrival they were notified that Toney Wynn B/M 56yoa had been pronounced deceased by emergency medical.
Officers spoke with the next of kin who was present on scene. The family member said Wynn complained of not feeling well earlier in the day and suffers from heart problems. The family member said Wynn was dropped off at 8:45 am to go fishing and after not being able to make contact with him by telephone for several hours, they went to the river bridge to check on him.
When the family member arrived Wynn was found lying in the grass. Emergency medical services and law enforcement responded to the scene but Wynn was deceased. Contact was made with the State Medical Examiner’s Office and they declined jurisdiction. There is no foul play is suspected.
