Praises To Dothan Police Chief Steve Parrish

DOTHAN:   Today at the Dothan Commission Meeting several people spoke well of Dothan Police Chief Steve Parrish.

Dothan City Manager Mike West, who has been Dothan City Manager for 11 years, said Parrish has brought a level of professionalism to the Dothan Police Chief. West said that he believes the management team assembled in the police department ranks high among the best.

West said that Chief Parrish is engaged in the community. That community police work is a success.

West said the members of the department work 365 days per year, 7 days per week, put their lives on the line for the community. West said that crime has decreased in Dothan and he is very proud of the job that Chief Parrish is doing for the City of Dothan.

The majority of the community feel that Chief Parrish is doing a fantastic job as Police Chief. He is accessible to the people of the City of Dothan. He returns telephone calls as much as humanly possible. Chief Parrish takes time to meet with people which want to talk to their police chief.

Chief Parrish works to be in the community. And most people, from all walks of life and all colors, support Steve Parrish as Police Chief.

Yes, there is a handful of people who do not like Chief Parrish. And the majority of those people do not even know who Steve Parrish is. They are following shepherds who are agenda driven. And that agenda is driven by personal benefit for them. Two of those driving the sheep are people with lawsuits against the City of Dothan.

Lawsuits because their employment was terminated by a former police chief. Both terminations were upheld by the Dothan Personnel Board and Twentieth Judicial Circuit Court. Both persons have federal lawsuits against the City of Dothan.

Steve Parrish is a honest fair man. He is a good law enforcement officer who believes in doing a day's work for a day's pay. Parrish expects honesty and integrity from all within the department.

Parrish believes in the management of the community by being proactive with situations. That it is best to keep the community under control then to get it under control after things happen.

Dothan selected a great choice to serve as Dothan Police Chief.

However the few, and I mean a few, who are complaining are causing issues within our city. These few do not speak for the majority of people in Dothan. No matter what color, religion or sex you are, Steve Parrish serves each with commitment and dedication to keep our community safe.

And the majority of the people of this city need to speak up in support of Chief Parrish and the members of the Dothan Police Department.
