SpectraCare Health Systems, Inc and Dothan Police Department have partnered with Flowers Hospital to ensure the safe disposal of prescription medicines in our community. These take backs are anonymous and free of charge. It’s time for spring cleaning and we urge you not to neglect the medicine cabinet.

We recommend this environmentally safe disposal because flushing medicines can contaminate our waters and wildlife. Many prescriptions have special disposal needs due to their ingredients. Research shows that keeping leftover medications in the home provides a temptation for misuse, a reason for theft, and an overdose hazard for all ages.

This prescription take back opportunity is being held in conjunction with the 15^th National Take Back Day. We invite you to participate with thousands of others across the country to help dispose of unwanted medications.
