Forty Five Years Ago Today ......
Gordy Hardy passed away from a fishing accident.
When I decided to do the Angel Of Hope Statue for all children who are no longer with us
Gordy was definitely an inspiration for me to make it happen.
It was months after the dedication of The Angel Of Hope at Westgate Park that
I learned that the baseball field right behind the Angel Of Hope
was named after Gordy...Hardy Field🙏🙏
Yes the Angel Of Hope was had the perfect home.
I’m so thankful that Gordy’s father (Earl Hardy)and his Aunt and Uncle (Lou and Becky Boothe) were able to come to the Angel Of Hope today.
It will be a moment I’ll never forget.
The day Gordy drowned he and I were suppose to spend
that afternoon together riding bikes downtown.
I’ll never forget that morning when I received a phone
call from Ken Clark telling me the sad news.
That was the first time I had lost a friend and unfortunately
It wouldn’t be the last time as all of us know and have experienced.
If any of you would like to come to the Angel Of Hope today the flowers and his picture are there for you to see.
