Saddle Up Santa will be held on Dec. 9th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Dothan Boots & Saddle Club, located at 1347 East Saunders Road in Dothan. Saddle Up Santa is a Christmas Festival with free entertainment for local residents, including free games and inflatable bounce houses for children, musical entertainment by Travis Perry’s Pure and Simple, a cake walk, door prizes, silent auction, visits with Santa, gifts from Santa, the Salvation Army Mobile Canteen providing lunch, and more.
There will be horse drawn wagon rides and even a skit done by a drill team on horseback. This event is a great way to step back into time where money isn’t everything, it’s a way to let children and families see the joys of Christmas and community. In addition, area non-profit agencies will be on hand that provide services to assist and help families struggling to make ends meet. We will also be collecting canned food for the Wiregrass Area Food Bank.
Donations appreciated but not required to enjoy the fun. This is a wonderful event, focused on families that don’t have a lot of money to spend, especially during the Holidays. Event proceeds will go to the local Wiregrass 2-1-1 program.
Volunteers are needed the day of the event, Saturday December 9th from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. If you would like to volunteer, call Dawn at 334-685-2409 or David at 334-836-1963.
