Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies executing a search warrant found two young children home alone in a house on Oak Street which had multiple drugs and two firearms inside. Deputies say the guns and narcotics, located in a master bedroom nightstand and closet, were easily accessible to the children, both under the age of twelve.
The OCSO Street Crimes and K9 Units executed a search warrant shortly before one a.m. at 629 NW Oak Street, Fort Walton Beach. They found the two kids unattended and patrol deputies located the defendant, 28-year old Jeffery Rodgers of that address walking down the street.
Charges against Rodgers include trafficking in both methamphetamine and oxycodone; possession of cocaine, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and child neglect.
