KEY COMPONENTS TO A CHURCH SERVICE

In a church service there are several key people that are required to be there Sunday after Sunday.

Those are the Pastor, Minister of Music, Piano, Organ and Keyboard. Added are the drums, guitars and other instruments.

The sound person, computer person and videographer.

Absolutely for sure; Pastor, Minister of Music, Paino and Organ, Sound and Computer person.

At Memphis Baptist Church we have a dedicated media team, musicians and church leaders who each take their roles of responsibility very serious. They are dedicated to being there, prepared, thinking of the obstacles to someone’s worship time and working to minimize those obstacles.

At Memphis Baptist Church we have a new young man in charge of leading the media team and instrumentalists. He assists the Minister of Music, Billy Rich, Each and every Sunday.

The glue to keep it going is Zac Whitehead. A graduate of Emmanuel Christian School. Zac is talented beyond belief. He wants all to go as prepared, making sure the worship time flows smooth. Without interruptions those attending can worship free, receiving what God has in store for them.

To many to name. But watching Zac Whitehead as he has grown from a child into the fine young man he is - what a blessing. It is my pleasure to work under Zac’s leadership as he organizes. But it is very worshipful as he leads the service with his unique style of leadership.

The son of Wesley and Tracie Whitehead who live in the eastern part of Houston County. We thank them for raising Zac and all of your children in church. And for Zac realizing what the hand of God has placed on him for his service in worship.

BROTHER JIM TATE AND BROTHER RICKY PLUMMER, ALONG WITH MISS HUBBARD

Several people have had strong influence on Brantley Bradley’s life of 5 years.

All of his Sunday School Teachers, Children Choir leaders, Discipleship Training Classes. Beth and Matthew Wilson, Mrs. Jenny, and many others.

Then when Brantley was at Covenant Methodist. A wonderful staff who loved Brantley and he loved them. He always has to give hugs.

Three special people in his life now. Those include our Pastor of Memphis Baptist Church, Rev. Jim Tate. Each and every Sunday morning, Sunday evening and Wednesday evening, Brantley has to run in to see Brother Jim. And it doesn’t matyet who Brother Jim is talking with, running towards him saying Brother Jim...Brother Jim. And Brother Jim always allows the interuption of picking him up and hugging him.

Brantley attends Bethel Christian Academy. And when he see’s Brother Ricky Plummer, Pastor of Bethel, Brantley always has to speak with Brother Ricky.

Brantley told his mother that he loves Brother Jim. When asked why Brantley replied because he is always praying for someone.

AND NOW FOR THE SPECIAL ONE:

Brantley’s teacher is Miss Hubbard. Now her granddaddy is Herman Hubbard, a retired Houston County Sheriff Deputy that I worked with.

Brantley LOVES his Miss Hubbard. She works with him and we can see such a difference in how Brantley has grown in knowledge as well as his children’s understanding of Jesus Christ.  Miss Hubbard is a wonderful person, taking a special interest in all of her children. Brantley loves his Miss Hubbard.

AND THERE IS BIG LANDON!!!

Miss Hubbard is engaged to Landon Jones of Ashford. Landon and his parents, well I have known them before Stephen and Wendy got married. Have watched Landon as he has grown into a fine young man.

While I do not know how often he slips into the school to see Miss Hubbard and the children, there is one little fella that has fallen in love with “ Big Landon “. Brantley is always talking about “ Big Landon “. He has made a positive impression on Brantley and he always has to run up to him when we see him.

THANKS to those who have played special roles in Brantley’s life. He zeros in on Matthew and Beth Wilson when he sees them...because they always have candy. There are many others such as his Sunday School teachers he has had from cradle until now. His Sunday School teachers are Mike and Melissa Cole this year.

Church plays a significant role in the way children are brought up. As the selfish PAW PAW, his mom and dad, Daddy Josh, Jessica, the Fails, his Uncle Spencer and UNicole John, Jason and Stephanie, the Bama RV crew, all have played significant roles in Brantley’s personality.

His mom, Emily Stokes Fails, has done a wonderful job. But the Church, the teachers in his life of both Covenant and Bethel as well as in Church Sunday morning, Sunday evening and Wednesday have played significant roles.

When asked, Brantley do you want to go to church...without hesitation...always YES!
