HOUSTON COUNTY:    On Christmas Eve Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza continued his tradition.

For several years as Houston County Sheriff Chief Deputy and continuing since Houston County Sheriff, Sheriff Donald Valenza hit the streets Christmas Eve answering calls and being dispatched on calls as a regular patrol deputy.

Sheriff Valenza's tradition is to hit the streets allowing the deputies with younger children to go home and assist their spouses with duties for Christmas Day arrival.

Sheriff Valenza supports families of the department and family involvement. If the home is happy then the deputy can enjoy the freedom to do their job without mental stress of a unhappy home. And Christmas is a special time, one celebrating the birth of Jesus, but also celebrating the joy and happiness of the children.

Sheriff Valenza was on patrol until well after 2 AM Christmas Day.
