DOTHAN -   On Wednesday, April 11, 2018, ALEA Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Hartford, Alabama. The vehicle was determined to be stolen from Prattville, Alabama. The driver, 40 year old William Addison of Montgomery, Al, was arrested for Receiving Stolen Property 1st Degree and Resisting Arrest.

Troopers requested the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) respond to the scene. SBI Agents launched an investigation and identified three locations; two in Coffee County and one in Geneva County, where additional items of stolen property were located.

On April 12, 2018, the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation conducted a joint investigation with ALEA Aviation, Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, Geneva County Sheriff’s Office, Hartford Police Department, Enterprise Police Department, Prattville Police Department, and the Alabama Drug Enforcement Task Force (ADETF) to recover the stolen property. Agents obtained search warrants for two residences and obtained consent to search a third property.

Ultimately, two sport utility vehicles, two trailers, and two drones were recovered. It is estimated that approximately $44,000 worth of stolen property was recovered.
