Traffic Stop lands One in Jail on Drug ChargesMatt Boster

On September 4, 2018 at approximately 10:21 PM a Marianna Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on a White Cadillac SUV in the area of South Street and Jefferson Street for a moving traffic violation.
While speaking with the driver of the vehicle, the Officer detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The driver and front seat passenger were asked to exit the vehicle. When doing so, the front seat male passenger fled from vehicle. After a short foot pursuit and the use of a dart firing stun gun, the subject was apprehended.
Upon a search of the person, the vehicle, and the area from which the subject fled, a large amount of narcotics were located. Also located were several scales and baggies, which are commonly used in the distribution and sell of narcotics. Approximately 2 pounds of methamphetamine, over one quarter pound of cocaine, 43 grams of MDMA(ecstasy), and 36 grams of marijuana along with several hundred dollars in US currency were also located during the search.
The subject was later identified as Santis Griffin. Griffin was placed under arrest and later transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
