Traffic Stop Lands Three in Jail on Drug Charges

During the early morning hours of February 19, 2018, Ashford Police Department officers performed a traffic stop for minor traffic violations in the parking lot of the Inland gas station located on U.S. Highway 84E in Ashford.
During the time of the traffic stop investigation, the driver of the vehicle admitted to officers the presence of illegal narcotics in the vehicle. Ashford Police K-9 “Firmino” was deployed by his handler, Officer Beau Liles, for a free air sniff on the exterior of the vehicle.
K-9 “Firmino” alerted the vehicle, leading to the location and seizure of drug paraphernalia and 23.4 grams of Crystal Ice Methamphetamine. The three subjects in the vehicle, Rodney N. Norsworthy, age 43 of Panama City, FL, David H. Gardner, age 42 of Lynn Haven, FL and Hilda C. Stafford-Nelson, age 45 of Lynn Haven, FL were taken into custody for the charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute/Sell.
All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
