GORDON: On Tuesday Houston County Sheriff 911 paged out a structure vehicle involving a camper in a shed that was jeopardizing a shed with cars and a residence in Gordon.
The location of the call was the 1700 block of North County Road 81 in Gordon.
During the day often times volunteers have difficult times leaving their jobs to respond. Gordon Fire Chief notified he did not have any manpower available at the time. Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched Lucy Volunteer Fire to respond.
Two members of Lucy Volunteer Fire were available so Dothan - Houston County Emergency Management Director Chris Judah, Field Operations Rickey Stokes and Matt Boster responded to assist.
On arrival we assisted in fighting the fire. EMA Director Chris Judah was on the end of the fire hose helping fight the fire.
Ashford Fire Chief Jimmy Posey was called to bring a brush truck. Water is an issue in Gordon and Posey dispatched his brush truck to help wet the area down and make sure all was out.
THANKS to the volunteers who devote their time and energies to help their community. Also Dothan - Houston County Emergency Management Director Chris Judah is making EMA what it is suppose to be. While the office does conduct the planning and preparation, he has made himself and staff available to respond to "asssist" the agencies. Most especially those who volunteer thier time and energies for free making sure they have all resources needed to serve the community.
