UPDATED - Houston County School Board - APOLOGIES - Cottonwood Project

HOUSTON COUNTY:   Apologies to Houston County School Board Members Jimmy Kilgore, Ken Lane and Marty Collins, AKA Larry, Moe and Curley in my article yesterday.

The votes "against" the Cottonwood ballfield project are justified. There were items in the bids that were not needed. The items needed to be removed from the project.

The "no" votes cast by these three were not votes "against" Cottonwood or the project. The votes were "no" in order to save the school system a lot of money and have a great project for Cottonwood.

In other words, as explained to me, spend money on items more useful than items not necessary. Like unnecessary conduit underground to items that will serve people better.

Today the school systems are faced with everything on school property, architects are required. Everything has to be submitted to bureaucrats in Montgomery for approval. And everything that is submitted those bureaucrats add more restrictions which cost more money. But those Montgomery bureaucrats do not send anymore money in order to fund the projects.

And what the Houston County School Board Members do not want is waste. Build what is needed to serve the community.

Now that it has been explained ( and often times reasons need to be explained. Mind reading is not a talent that many have ) your reasoning is seen and is justified. But without explanations of the reasoning is what causes turmoil.

To the three, Kilgore, Lane and Collins, I apologize for the characterization of Larry, Moe and Curley. However I would encourage the 7 of you to resolve any differences and work together as a team for the children first, faculty second and parents third.

Also give explanations when you are for or against something. Put comments "on the record" and in the public domain. That is the only way the registered voters know for sure what the truth is. Do not allow the registered voters to assume.

Make the students a success. Make each other a success.
