UPDATED @ 10:36 AM

Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched deputies to 1075 W.G. Bond Road about 8:30 AM this morning in reference to a domestic situation where a female could be heard yelling.

Houston County Sheriff Deputy Gray was on a traffic stop on Highway 84 West, cleared the traffic stop and responded to the domestic call.

As Deputy Gray was responding he spotted a vehicle and paused looking into the faces of those in the car. Deputy Gray could tell the female was in distress.

Deputy Gray turned around on the vehicle and went to stop it. The vehicle ran east bound on Highway 84 West.

As the Deputy and suspect vehicle approached Highway 84 West and John D. Odom Road, the suspect turned left off Highway 84 West and started travling north on John D. Odom Road. Shortly after crossing the west bound lanes of traffic the female jumped from the moving vehicle.

Deputy Gray stopped to take care of the female while other units continued response. The suspect vehicle, a 2001 Buick LeSabre, continued north on John D. Odom Road and was out of site.

Houston County Deputies continued north on John D. Odom Road and as approached Oak Ridge and John D. Odom Road the suspect had hit a innocent vehicle.

The suspect was walking in the ditch walking south on John D. Odom. Some citizens were at him. He moved his short to cover the face from blood.

The innocent bystanders thought he was dazed and he made a comment to them saying they did not see him.

The fast approaching deputies took him into custody. There was a brief struggle. The suspect was handcuffed and placed in the Sheriff Department Patrol Tahoe.

The suspect then began to kick the window attempting to break the window to escape. Deputies were forced to then leg iron handcuff his feet.

Dothan Fire Engine 8 arrived and check the innocent victims he struck and then checked the person in custody.

Houston County Sheriff Deputies obtained a search warrant for his blood and alcohol.

The subject will be facing multiple felonies to possibly include Assault in the First Degree, Kidnapping, Attempt to Elude, Assault with a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Driving and more offenses.

At the time of the accident on John D. Odom Road and Oak Ridge, the subject was not being chased actively by law enforcement. The chase ended when the female jumped from his vehicle because the primary officer stopped to render aid to the female victim.

Houston County Sheriff Deputies were attempting to catch the vehicle but never had in sight until which time he had already wrecked and was attempting to flee on foot.

Dothan Police are investigating the motor vehicle accident.
