UPDATED: Lawsuit posted that was filed in Dale County Circuit Court by retired Ozark lawmen and a former Ozark lawman who is now a Henry County Sheriff Deputy.
DALE COUNTY: 10:23 AM This morning a lawsuit has been filed against Jon Carroll AKA Mose Kalev AKA Henrycountyreporter.
The lawsuit has been filed by retired Ozark Police Chief Tony Spivey, Retired Ozark Police Captain Butch Whittington, Retired Ozark Police Captain Eddy Henderson, Retired Ozark Police - Now Henry County Deputy Keith Cauthen.
The suit is a result of viscous lies and defamation of character on each of the persons filing the lawsuit. Carroll accused Spivey, Henderson and Whittington of a police cover up in the 1999 murders of J.B. Beasley and Traci Hawlett.
Also Jon Carroll specifically named Keith Cauthen as the prime suspect in the murder of Beasley and Hawlett. In those accusations he also alleged the Ozark Officers of covering up the murder because Cauthen was a fellow Ozark Police Officer at the time of the murder.
While Carroll claimed he had evidence proving his allegations Carroll has never provided any of his so called proof to any agency.
Carroll used the sister of J.B. Beasley to bolster his accusations in the murder theory. However Beasley's sister has distanced herself from Carroll. She has made it clear that Carroll twisted what she said. That Carroll manipulated what she said and lead her in a way to bolster his claims. She has run far away from Jon Carroll.
This is the first of several lawsuits being filed against Jon Carroll AKA Mose Kalev AKA HenryCountyReporter. More are expected to be filed in the immediate future.
The plaintiffs are being represented by Attorney Adam Parker, Tom Brantley and John White.
