UPDATED @ 12:04 PM SATURDAY 7:30 PM... Pedestrain Struck in Oak Hill Trailer Park

HOUSTON COUNTY: At 7:30 PM... Houston County 911 dispatched Taylor Fire and Pilcher's responded to a report of a person struck in Oak Hill Trailer Park. Before Units arrived dispatch advised the driver of the black truck put the juvenile in the truck and took the child to the hospital. Deputies are checking both hospitals for the victim.

UPDATED @ 12:04 PM SATURDAY    

When Houston County Sheriff Deputies and Taylor Police arrived on the scene the child victim was gone. There was evidence in the drive of the trailer park where the incident occurred.

Deputies responded to the hospital where the family had arrived with the victim. Sadly the child had died from the injuries received.

Because this was a private property accident and not a on the roadway accident the Houston County Sheriff Criminal Investigation Division was called to investigate. ( ALEA-Troopers do not work private property accident. If called they would assist but not be the primary agency investigating. )

Houston County Sheriff Criminal Investigation Unit Commander Lt. Hatcher was on the scene.

RSN knew the child passed away last night but we were asked to hold it until all notifications were made.

The child was 2 years old. It was clearly an accidental death. You turn your head for one minute and children can disappear. It happen to us when our daughter was small, fortunately nothing bad happen other than a frantic couple of minutes.

Prayers are out to the family and the person driving. Clearly an accidental death.
