DOTHAN: A vehicle verses a pedestrian accident on Highway 84 East and Beverley Road.
The vehicle was east bound on Highway 84 and just east of the Beverley Road intersection struck a pedestrian and the pedestrian was killed.
The vehicle was on on duty Houston County Sheriff Deputy.
Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza is on the scene. Dothan Fire is on the scene. Dothan Police is in charge of the investigation.

The Houston County Sheriff Deputy was "not" on a call and was on routine patrol. The Deputy was slowing to pull into the HOBO Pantry on patrol to check on the attendant.
The pedestrian was walking "in" the roadway in a dark area when struck.
Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd pronounced the victim dead on the scene.
Dothan Police CRASH Team was called to investigate the accident. Dothan Police Patrol Lt. Jeremy Collins was the on scene commander.
Along with Sheriff Donald Valenza on the scene was Chief Deputy Jeff Carlisle, Captain Bill Rafferty, Lt. Tony Turner, Lt. Donovan Aries, and other members of the Sheriff Department, and Dothan - Houston County Emergency Management Director Chris Judah.
Houston County Sheriff Valenza sent three members of the department to a inter department crisis training to minister to members of the department when tragedy strikes one of them. Those being Chaplin Joe Holland, Dr. Tim Faulk, Lt. Tony Turner and Ricky Herring. Sheriff Valenza had them ministering to the Deputy.
There was nothing the Deputy could do because the person was in the dark area of the roadway. Reports the subject had been at East Main and Ross Clark Circle at the Shell Station earlier. Alcohol on the pedestrian's part is suspected.
