SAMSON: 5:30 PM. Former Samson Police Officer Chad Green is in law enforcement custody.
Green apparently shot himself. Reports are he is still alive and in a Montgomery hospital in critical condition. Green was near Montgomery on Interstate 65.
Green has been the subject of a manhunt by multiple law enforcement agencies. Those include Geneva County Sheriff Department, Samson Police Department, Alabama State Bureau of Investigation and the United States Marshall Service.
If Green survives the self inflicted gunshot he will be transferred back to Geneva County Jail.
Good job to all of the law enforcement officers involved.

Morder suspect Chad Green had died from the self inflicted gunshot wound.
