HOUSTON COUNTY: At 7:47 AM  Houston County 911 Dispatched at firearm assault at US 231 and Hwy 109. The PR advised it was accidental shooting to the grown. Deputies and rescue are responding.  

At 7:54 AM... Deputies arrived on the scene and are speaking to the victim. Dothan Fire was requested to mutual aid Rehobeth since it was a gunshot wound.

Other deputies are responding to 215 Harden Road in reference to the shooting. Houston County investigators are on the scene with the victim and other investigators are responding to the location where the shooting took place.

UPDATE @ 8:00 AM

The victim was transported to a Dothan Hospital by Rehobeth Rescue with Dothan Fire-medics on Board. The incident is under investigation by the Houston County Sheriff's Office.

The shooting is reported to have occurred at the Harden Road residence. The persons present placed the victim in the truck and carried to the store at Highway 231 South and Highway 109. That is when 911 was called.

Multiple Deputies rolled to the scene along with Dothan Police Captain Todd David. Captain David was on Highway 231 South when the call was dispatched and rolled to assist. ( NOTE:  In Dothan - Houston County, the agencies get along and work hand in hand together. )

On the scene at the store, Houston County Sheriff Criminal Investigations Bureau Captain Donnovan Arias, Houston County Sheriff Patrol Division Commander Captain James Ivey, Patrol Shift Commander Lt. Tony Turner and Sgt. David Asbill.

The victim was transported by Rehobeth Rescue but Dothan Fire requested to meet for advanced life support.

EMS transported the victim to Southeast Health AKA Southeast Alabama Medical Center. Sheriff Deputies escorted the ambulance to the hospital.

The victim was shot in the groin area.

PRELIMINARY INVESTIGATION indicate the shooting occurred at Harden Road. Multiple Deputies and Criminal Investigators are on Harden Road. Houston County Sheriff Criminal Investigation Bureau Lieutenant Hatcher is on the scene on Harden Road.

Criminal Investigators are working on the puzzle now to determine the "facts".
