You Got To Get Up Early To Out Fox Terry Spicer

ELBA:    Elba School Superintendent Terry Spicer was a Legislator with the State of Alabama.


During the bingo trials it was learned that Spicer and Lobbist Jarrod Massey were involved in a scheme. A scheme to help each other where Massey would pay Spicer to get legislation passed.


Massey told on Spicer. The FBI started investigating Spicer. After months they returned an indictment against Terry Spicer. There is a hearning today at 9:30 AM in Federal Court in Montgomery where he is expected to plead guilty. The guilty plea is to a single count of bribery.


Last month a member of the Elba City School Board made a motion to terminate Spicer. The motion died.


When Spicer pleads guilty he will loose his ability to receive retirement until he is 62. On his guilty plea, according to the Alabama Department of Education, he would no longer be able to serve as Superintendent.


Spicer called a special meeting of the Elba City Schools last night. Effective immediately, Terry Spicer has been transferred to serve as Director of Operations. This is a non certified position and his guilt plea will not affect is job.


The new job would be at a reduced pay. He can serve through 2012, which would give Spicer the 25 years needed. This would allow him to retire and begin drawing his retirement immediately.


The indictment alleges Spicer acepted a ski trip, cash and campaign services from Jarrod Massey. The allegations are Ronnie Gilley gave concernt tickets, contributions for Spicer to favor his projects.


Everyone thought Spicer would be out when he entered his plea, but you got to get up early to get ahead of Spicer.
