Regular readers of RSN see the good, the bad, and the pitiful of youth activity in the Wiregrass, from mug shots to sports achievements and everything in between. The sad reality, though, is that the negative often overshadows the positive. We at Just the Facts are hoping to do something about that with our new teen leadership program, UpTeens.UpTeens will empower teens to be the solution to their own problems through enhanced relationship and leadership skills. We aren't trying to replace anything that's working. Instead, we believe collaborating is the only way to improve teen culture in our area and beyond. The headlines remind us there's plenty of work to go around. We all own this problem. For this effort to be successful, we will need adult mentors. Anyone with a passion for working with youth is welcome, and the more diverse the professions the greater the opportunities for the teens.Free seminar for interested parties: March 8-9 @ Wiregrass Foundation, 9-4:30 671-7774
