Request to Mr. Stokes REGARDING DALE COUNTY

June 25, 2014Dear Mr. Stokes:I am at long last sitting down to write you so that I might make a request of you. My request may at first blush appear as simple criticism ( any criticism alway appears harsh to the target), but is in reality a request for help. Please reprint this.Too many times in news reporting as I have read deeper into articles of which I held specific knowledge, I found the articles to be WRONG. Wrong, incorrect and inadequate information in todays media is very powerful and ultimately serves the wrong master .Mr. Stokes I have been a fan and commend you on the many personal and often emotional battles that you have taken-on. The fight that you have led many times is rooted in personal experience and emotional underpinnings. Your are to be commended for being the lone voice so often that has called out, enlightening the public. Your voice can be powerful.So now comes my request for factual, accurate and without emotional equity…reporting. I know you have a soft spot for L.E.O.’s. (Law Enforcement Officers). This request is focusing on Dale County and your spotlight on what is happening between the sheriffs office and the commission.Your reports have been skewed to one side and as I stated before, I understand your foundation. This one-sided view is not helpful to the voters of Dale County and in many cases only serves to enflame and confuse. The recent matter of meals for prisoners and the associated cost has once again given rise to reports which are not helpful. The accounting scheme (non-derogatory) in place as I have read in other reports is confusing. I am not sure that a citizen could easily review the spreadsheet in the current system and ascertain what the budget is, as it has been presented in other outlets.Mr. Stokes you are calling for citizens of Dale County to shut-up individuals for highlighting what they see or believe is wrong, inaccurate or not the best policy to serve Dale County. Mr. Stokes I am confused, isn't this the foundation from which you operate? You point-out right and wrong everyday and call people to task. Why are others not allowed the same right?Mr. Stokes I am asking that you give Dale County a reprieve until the end of the year, unless a bona fide story arises. I feel confident that if you sit back, listen and watch, that there will be “real news” in the future that you then do what Ricky Stokes does best!Let me state that no person(s) have contacted me, asked or solicited me in anyway to contact you. This is my personal undertaking.Please help the citizens of Dale County get it right. Put the facts out there and soon enough the “wrong” will surface and then feel free to blast-away!Regards,Tim Adams
