Don’t Shoot the Bears

Please don't shoot the bears! We're used to seeing deer; but what are the chances to be sitting at your favorite spot in the woods and have one of these beautiful animals walk within 30 feet of you? Recently I heard of nearly 300 black bears being shot in Florida and it made me sick. I can see killing a bear to protect human life but not a pet or trash can. We're the ones who encroached on their territory and claimed it as ours. Now we kill bears because they're a "nusiance": not hardly. Too bad we can't shoot humans who become a "nusience", there wouldn't be a sole left in government.

I just Pray that when my grandchildren get to be my age, that they'll see one of these magnificent animals walk within a few feet of them. Don't just shoot a bear "because you can". Being a "Hunter" should mean more than just killing helpless animals. Eat what you harvest and don't just shoot an animal because you can...
