Monster First Long Beard

Tyler Richardson, 16 years old, of Headland, Alabama, called up the long beard on his first hunt by himself. With the assistance of his friend, Josh Starling, during the past week, Tyler learned mostly what he needed to know. Setting up in the edge of a plowed field in Abbeville, Alabama, where Josh advised him, the long beard flew down from the tree right behind him into the field. Tracking the bird from his gobbles, he came within 35 yards of Tyler's old 12 GA bolt action Mossberg. He rolled him. The gobbler weighed 21 lbs 8 oz, had 1 3/8 inch spurs, and had a 9 inch beard with a few strands forming a second. He is estimated to be 5 years or older. Not bad for a first turkey!
