(Headland, AL) (March 2, 2016) – Headland Bass Team has received a $2,500 donation from America’s Farmers Grow Communities, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund and directed by local farmer John Paul Hayes of Henry County. The donation will help Headland Bass Team cover travel expenses for their high school anglers, as they represent Headland, traveling to lakes all across the state and possibly nationally. Headland Bass Team’s program not only exposes the anglers to team competition and to media and TV coverage but it puts anglers with mentors, coaches, parents and friends weekend after weekend to sharpen their skills. Many of our Alabama ba sed tournaments last year had over 200 boats each. That’s 400 high school anglers competing simultaneously! These great young anglers have many opportunities through high school bass fishing to be eligible for college scholarships.
