Local woman hopes to win accessible vehicle through Mobility Awareness campaign

May is National Mobility Awareness Month and for the 3rd consecutive year, the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA) is giving away customized wheelchair accessible vehicles as part of a nationwide effort to raise awareness for people with mobility disabilities. The Mobility Awareness campaign hopes to educate seniors, veterans, caregivers and people with mobility disabilities about accessible vehicle options and the adaptive technology that can enable them to live independent, active and mobile lives. This year three winners will be selected to win one of three adapted minivans! Toyota Motor Sales, USA is donating two Sienna minivans to be adapted by BraunAbility and Vantage Mobility International, while Chrysler Group, LLC is donating a Dodge Caravan to be converted. They are running an online contest where the public is asked to vote for a disabled entrant in their area. Winning such a contest can have a life changing impact on someone with limited mobility!
