1st Lt. Weston Cecil Lee, 25, of 227 Pine St. North, Bluffton, GA 39824, died April 29, 2017 in Mosul, Iraq from injuries suffered from stepping on a land mine. His body will lie in state during a visitation held at Weston's home church, the Ft. Gaines United Methodist Church, on Friday evening, May 12, 2017 from 6 PM until 8 PM EDT. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 2 PM EDT in Mangham Auditorium of Early County High School. The funeral will follow at a later date in the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA. The memorial service will be officiated by Pastor Martin Loyley, Capt. Jimmy Webb and Mavis Lark Moore. The family has asked that all flowers are to be omitted entirely at the Friday evening visitation in Ft. Gaines, at the memorial service Saturday at the High School Auditorium and at the Lee's home in Bluffton. Contributions may be made to the following three (family suggested) places: the Ft. Box 36, Bluffton, GA 39824. Weston was born on August 22, 1991 in Columbus, GA to William Edward "Eddie" Lee and Aldene Weston Lee. He was a 1st Lt. in the 1st Battalion, 325th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division out of Ft. Bragg, NC. He received his BA degree in Criminal Justice from the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega, GA. He was a member of the Ft. Gaines United Methodist Church. Weston was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents: Albert Chester Weston and Avis Spooner Weston and Robert Edward Lee and Pearl Black Lee, his uncle and aunt Billy Lark and Jean Weston Lark and a cousin Wayne Moore. His survivors, other than his parents, include a cousin, Mavis Lark Moore, 2 brothers: William Jason Lee and his wife Kayla Beth and Chester Robert Lee, his 2 nieces are Alyssa Fletcher and Addison Pearl Lee, Weston's fiance' Savannah Farr, uncle and aunt Dewey and Nan Lee, cousins Matt and Amanda Lee and their children Allie and Mason, Stephanie and Anthony Troche and Eric Lee.
