KINSEY. . .Alice E. McLaughlin Knowles, a resident of Kinsey, Alabama, died Wednesday afternoon, April 4, 2018, at her home. She was 82.         

            Memorial Services will be held at a later date.

            Mrs. Knowles was born and reared in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Michael McLaughlin and Esther McGinley McLaughlin. She attended Villanova University and received her Doctorate Degree in Education from Nova Southeast University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Mrs. Knowles retired as an Intervention Specialist from the Brevard County Public School System. She also owned and operated several businesses in Florida and New Jersey. Mrs. Knowles moved to Kinsey, Alabama in 2003. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Headland. Mrs. Knowles was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy and Tommy McLaughlin, and a grandson, Blake Knowles.

            Surviving relatives include her husband, William Cecil “Billy” Knowles, Jr.; three daughters, Lucy Buckner, New Jersey; Jill Bailey (David), Melbourne, FL: and Kelly Briceno, Taylor, AL; two sons, Kurt Knowles (Christy), Echo, AL; and Mike Knowles, Kinsey, AL; a brother, Michael McLaughlin, Pennsylvania; several grandchildren.
