Mrs. Anita Pittman Crutchfield of Enterprise, AL, died at her home Thursday, February 09, 2017.  She was 79.


Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M, Monday, February 13, 2017 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Dr. Ben Bowden officiating.  Burial will follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery in Enterprise. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday beginning at 9:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 302 N. Main Street, Enterprise, AL or to the SOS Animal Shelter, 25944 Hwy. 134, Enterprise, AL 36330.


After graduation from Enterprise High School, Mrs. Crutchfield went to work as the secretary to the Superintendent of Enterprise City Schools.  She remained there until she retired 39 years later.  She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church and was active in her Sunday School class for many years.


Anita was beautiful, both inside and out, and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Maxie Gene Crutchfield, an infant son, and her parents, Ralph and Louise Pittman, all of Enterprise.


Mrs. Crutchfield is survived by two sons, Clay Crutchfield, Enterprise, AL and Charlie Crutchfield, Birmingham, AL, one daughter, Dr. Audra Crutchfield, New Haven, CT; two grandchildren, Lauren and Lindsey Crutchfield and one great-grandson, Bryar Anderson. Also surviving is a brother, Bill (Bess) Pittman, West Point, GA, a sister-in-law, Jerlon Godwin, Enterprise, AL and brother-in-law Bill Crutchfield of Ward, AR. Two aunts also survive:  Mrs. Dot Oliver of Enterprise and Mrs. Mary Farris of Dothan, AL.
