ABBEVILLE. . .Ann Carpenter Robinson, a resident of Abbeville, died Friday afternoon, September 21, 2018, in an Albany, Georgia hospital. She was 80.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, September 23, 2018, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Reverend George Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery-East. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:30 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary in Abbeville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, c/o Henry Reynolds, 3945 County Road 40, Newville, AL 36353.
Mrs. Robinson was born and reared in Dale County, daughter of the late William Matthew Carpenter and Anzillie Adkins Carpenter. She lived in Abbeville since 1956 where she was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Robinson retired from WalMart in Eufaula and was formerly employed by Teledyne in Abbeville. She was self-employed for many years in her home as a seamstress. Mrs. Robinson was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Robinson; three sisters, Edna Dyson, Clara Vandermade and Lois Kirkland; and two brothers, Winston Carpenter and Vinson Carpenter.
Surviving relatives include several nieces and nephews.
