Annie Laura Dawkins Buckhalt passed away on June 18, 2017, at her home surrounded by her husband and daughter.


Funeral services will be held at Selma Baptist Church at 2 P.M. Wednesday, June 21, 2017 with Dr. Brent Parker and Reverends Rick Glenn and James Harvey officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. 


The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. The family will be at the home of Patsy McNab at 117 Foxfire Dr. Dothan.


Ann was born in Montgomery County, Alabama, on May 7, 1931. She was a Quality Control Supervisor for Warners in Dothan, Thomasville, Georgia, and Marianna, Florida, for 33 years. She traveled for 20 years to various off shore plants training workers for Warners. She was a long time member of Selma Baptist Church where she served in the nursery for many years. She served on the Board of Directors for a number of years for the Dothan Rescue Mission.


Ann was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Pearl Dawkins, in-laws Myrtle and I,E, Buckhalt, Sr., sisters Ellen Hall and her husband Frank, Jeanette Brown and her husband Eddie, sister-in-law Dannie Theisen and her husband Jerry.


She is survived by her husband of 69 years Eugene Buckhalt, Jr., her daughter Patsy McNab (Jack), granddaughters Christa Glenn (Gary), Laurisan Williams (Jonathan), three great-grandchildren Madison and Lillian Williams and Adam Glenn along with several special nieces and nephews.


Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Selma Baptist Church Fund, Columbia Baptist Association, 1308 Ross Clark Circle, Dothan, AL or Covenant Hospice Care, 1512 West Main St. Dothan, AL.


Pallbearers will be Greg Theisen, Jerry Naramore, Johnny Watson, James Gradic, John Greathouse and Terry Hayes.


The family would like to give a special thank you for the love and care given to our wife and mother to Covenant Hospice of Dothan.
