Annie Mae Grant Simmons of Geneva passed away on Wednesday, August 09, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 65.


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Harvest Time Pentecostal Ministries with Rev. Joey Pettis and Rev. Donnie Earles officiating. Burial will follow in Leddon Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 11, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. The body will lie in state at the church on Saturday, one hour prior to the service.


Mrs. Simmons was born in Orlando, FL on July 31, 1952 to the late James William Grant and Lillie Mae Johnson Grant. Mrs. Simmons was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She always displayed a strong work ethic, even during her illness, she still desired to work. Her family was her life. Harvest Time Pentecostal Ministries was blessed to have had her as a member of their church.


In addition to her father and mother, she is preceded in death by her step-mother, Mary Grant; one great-grandson, Abram James Mayner.


She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jimmy Day Simmons of Geneva, AL; two daughters, Marsha Aughtman (Scott) of Geneva, AL, and Alicia Marsh (Kerry) of Samson, AL; one son, Christopher Simmons (Deb) of Samson, AL; nine grandchildren, Courtney Mayner (Rob), Brandon Davis (Jala) Ethan Simmons, Grant Simmons, Zachary Marsh, Bryce Marsh, Matthew Aughtman, Michael Marsh, and Kris Marsh; three great-grandchildren, Sawyer Fain, Wyatt Mayner, and Layton Davis; one sister, Cheryl Del Valle (Mike); one step-sister, Juanita Daniels (Bruce); two step-brothers, Jimmy Rodgers (Judy), and Jerome Rodgers; a very special sister-in-law, Margie Thomas; special niece, Paula Russ; two special nephews, Scotty Troublefield, and Jamie Troublefield.


Serving as pallbearers will be: Grant Simmons, Ethan Simmons, Brandon Davis, Matt Aughtman, Scotty Troublefield, and Heath Harrison.


The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice and staff, especially her nurse, Dawn Tipton who took such excellent care of Mrs. Simmons.
