Annie Rae Russell Henderson of Samson passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 77 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Lime Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, June 18, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Henderson was born on March 18, 1941 to the late George Washington and Nora Lee Nolin Russell. Mrs. Henderson was known for her wonderful cooking, and she was truly at her happiest when she was cooking and spending time with her family. She was an extremely hard worker and always put others before herself. She was a longtime member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Hasten Henderson; one daughter, Debbie Lamb; one granddaughter, Holly Crowder; three sisters, Dorothy Day, Modrell Kilcrease, and Belle York; four brothers, Bill, Bob, Jimmy, and Joe Russell.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharron Casey (Sammy) of Ebro, FL, Sherrie Byrd (Jon) of Samson; one son, Kennith Henderson (Ann) of Choctaw Beach, FL; five grandchildren, Brandi Brannon (Tom) Owens Crossroads, AL, April Simon (Eric) of Southport, FL, Erica Brown of Southport, FL, Shelly White (Anthony) of Ebro, FL, and Hank Byrd (Johanna) of Samson; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Sandy Thompson (Tom) of Hartford; four brothers, Alcus Russell of Samson, Junior Russell (Peggy) of Samson, Mickey Russell (Paulette) of Opp, and Donnie Russell (Ann) of Samson; and a number of special nieces and nephews.
